Warranty

For as long as the piece exists

Everything we make carries our warranty for life. Not for a year, and not for as long as you own it. For as long as the piece is in the world.

If it passes to a daughter, it is still ours. Bring it back in thirty years and we will know it.

If anything goes wrong, we put it right

Our work is ours to stand behind. If something we made gives way, we repair it, and there is nothing to pay and nothing to discuss.

Time is covered too

Gold is soft, and a piece that is worn is a piece that changes. Prongs thin, rhodium fades, polish dulls, a shank grows lighter on a hand that never takes it off.

None of that is a fault. It is the piece being lived in, and it is ours to look after. Bring it to us and we restore it, with our compliments, however many years have passed.

Accidents

A ring caught in a car door, a stone struck against stone. These are different, and we will not pretend otherwise.

We will always do the work, and we will always do it properly. Where a stone or gold has to be replaced, we quote you before we begin, and nothing is ever charged that you have not seen and agreed.

What sits outside this

A piece that is lost or stolen is beyond us, and we are sorry for it.

And if a piece has been opened, altered or repaired by another jeweller, we can no longer answer for it. We are not able to stand behind work we did not do or see. Speak to us first, whatever it is, and there will almost always be a way.

Pieces we did not make

Bring them anyway.

We will clean a piece from any house, and we do it gladly. What we will not do is take a piece we do not know onto the bench, because we cannot promise the outcome and we would rather say so.

We look before we begin. If we find anything loose or fragile we will tell you and return the piece as it is, rather than risk it.

A record that stays with the piece

Every piece we make carries its own number, and that number is its name for as long as it exists.

Everything we do to it is written against that number and kept. Every check, every restoration, every year it comes home.

The record belongs to the piece, not to you. It goes wherever the piece goes, and whoever holds it can bring it back to us. In time it is worth as much as the papers it came with.
